Welcome Winter!
While we have been reflecting on how the first half of this school year went, the second semester is creeping up, as is the snow. We are now in the second half of the 23 - 24 school year and planning for 24 - 25 is part of what we will do - as we support all of our second-semester activities. As we plan for the 24 - 25 school year, we look to provide support to both students and the adults who teach them. Lauren, Melissa, and I discussed the value of supporting the diversity of needs in the WOL setting - whether it is a full or part-time student. In this episode of We Do This Every Day we dive into the value of making connections. It is a lofty goal sometimes in the virtual setting, and we do our best, every day!
In this conversation, we consider ways that each student can know that they are important and that they matter. While we might be out there sometimes - our forward-thinking approach to education creates solutions that help meet student and district needs in interesting ways. We know that focusing on personalized learning, the importance of relationships, and the aspiration for a more inclusive and impactful educational system do not mean each student does what they want! It means we know students need relevance and relationships to see the value and transfer that to learning.
