Greetings WOL friends!
As I passed a beautiful garden on my early morning walk I commented to the gardener that her flowers were beautiful. As she was weeding she replied, ‘It can be such a pain’. I can relate. The weeds can have a way of taking over and obscuring some of the beauty. I paused a moment and said to her, ‘Nothing without good work’, she nodded in agreement.
As we take time to pause this summer I hope you have had some moments to enjoy the beauty around you. To acknowledge the hard work that you do each day. How regardless of your role, as a student, a parent, a teacher, or administrator, there is always work.
As we turn the corner to August and see the starting line for the beginning of the 2023 - 24 school year, may we bask in the abundance of our good work and progress.
At the World of Learning, we will be adding a full-time option for IU8 districts through Extended Campus. We look forward to welcoming students from 17 of our IU8 districts, and new teachers who have worked hard to prepare for these students this summer. We have updated our Spanish, French, German, Latin, Chemistry, Physics, Japanese, and Chinese courses. We have completed professional learning on Brain-Friendly Teaching - using our IU8 JoltEDU professional learning platform. We have updated our support system and improved our student experience in our asynchronous model.
So, if you find yourself without a teacher in any subject this fall, please reach out - we may be able to help and support you and the learning journey of your school and team.
Onward,
Pat
