Hi All,
If you didn’t know already - Anita has a new job! Working with Anita Young has been a BLAST!!
Listen in to hear how it all started, and what Anita will be up to at her home district of Huntingdon Area School District in Huntingdon, PA. We will miss her every day.
We laughed and cried during this recording.
The most surprising thing about transitioning to a 'virtual/online' education job has been that you really can build a relationship with your students online.
A highlight for Anita was teaching Bald Eagle Area Middle and High School Life Skills students Spanish. Her belief that everyone can learn a language came to life. She also has great memories of her first students at Connemaugh Valley and Windber Area SD.
Anita is going to miss our amazing team - especially Lauren and Olivia! The thing she won’t miss is SPREADSHEETS and the 2nd and 3rd week of August!!
One takeaway is the value of Empathy. Build relationships and get to know what is going on in the world for our teachers and students.
Another takeaway is the value of collaborating and learning from people like Chris Davis and each other.
Finally
A BIG GIANT thank you to Anita Young!! You have made such a difference in the WOL and the lives of all of us, our students, and our districts! We wish you all the best as you lead the BILD program at Huntingdon Area School District. We loved working with you EVERYDAY!

Leadership Lessons we have learned from Anita (Things that our team loves about Anita)
Anita is available to help.
She builds relationships.
She set high expectations.
She is a WORKER - she gets things done.
She is collaborative.
She is open to learning - Growth Mindset
This Blog Post by Marc and Angel Hack Life speaks to the ‘be present in life’ attitude that we need to succeed and get along in a world that wants to divide us. Anita definitely taught me to be a better listener, make time for family, and helped me put into action my belief that everyone can learn.
