You can help students explore new languages and cultures
At the WOL Institute, we are looking forward to the 2022 - 23 School Year. We have had great success supporting districts, and our Life Skills, ASL, and Elementary Spanish programs have been a real boost to our excitement this year.
We offer NINE languages, including Elementary Spanish. And we teach EVERYONE! Check out the link to our course catalog as you think about building your schedule for the coming year. Our wide array of offerings might help you to add some curiosity and excitement. We see the sheer joy of accomplishment when learners can communicate in a language that at first seems hard and intimidating. The video below is one example of students communicating with their ASL teacher in ALL ASL. We are completely inspired. We can all use a bit of this vibe in the midst of Winter.

We know it’s all about the connection! When students and teachers interact as they learn and explore the possibilities are endless. Our teachers always start with HELLO! Our courses start with a section called ‘Getting to Know You’. It is all a part of a bigger plan to make learning authentic, relevant, and engaging. When we know who we are teaching we can tailor our live sessions and assignments that tap into what interests students. In turn, we see awesome examples of learners’ understanding and using language.
