Authentic, Relevant and Engaging Virtual World Language Instruction - Inspiring Kindness through Language, Learning, and Culture
,
Watching someone beam when they are learn something new is one of the greatest gifts of being a teacher. The joy and the angst of success and failure, as it turns to understaning is not quantifiable.
There is plenty of research that tell us that learning a language leads to lots of great educational outcomes - and there are so many reasons to expand the opportunities for our students.
Listen to this student talk about the value of her learning:
These students are the reason we are so passionate about making learning accessable to anyone - regardless of where they live or if your school can find or afford a teacher.
So, Why Should ALL Students Learn a Language??
The study of World Language improves the knowledge of one’s own language and grammar while improving vocabulary.
A second language improves grades in math and English.
World Language study enhances listening skills and memory.
Learning a world language improves students’ analytical skills.
Business skills, plus a world language increase employability. In some jobs (and colleges) having skills in a second language can be the difference in getting hired (or accepted to college).
Which reason would matter to your community? Can you think of more? Check out some of the others HERE.
