,
If you know someone that might want to expand their World Language program or needs help finding a teacher for their World Language program please share this email with them.
As school winds down most administrators' have already made plans for next year. And while this year has turned some things upside down, we know that educators have lead the way at being flexible, caring and learning on the fly. We applaud all of our colleagues who have survived and thrived this year.
We thrived by helping others. We have taught virtually for a very long time. This year we supported more districts than usual with long-term substitutes. We pride ourselves in helping schools and districts when they can’t find a teacher and need a short-term solution. We worked with districts to help the students and families transition from in-person instruction to synchronous (and asynchronous) teaching and learning. Some of the awesome districts we worked with included Greater Johnstown, Upper Merion, Bethel Park, Upper St. Clair, Moshannan Valley, Hollidaysburg and Eastern Lebanon County. Our goal is to be sure their students receive the instruction they needed.
Our programs are not one-size-fits all! Contact us to find out how we can help with Elementary, Middle School Exploratory or even with Core or Elective offerings. We work with amazing teachers who understand how to connect with students using virtual tools, and who create engaging asynchronous instruction.
We offer Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Elementary Spanish and MS Exploratory Courses, in addition to Spanish, French, German and Latin. It is TIME to think about languages for your school next year - contact Pat to get your students scheduled. pmulroy@worldoflearninginstitute.com
This year we hosted several clubs that offered students opportunities to speak in the target language, to learn about Anime, to experience Japanese Karaoke, to explore German speaking countries, and to experience Chinese cinema.
We love seeing our students getting creative with their language learning! If you think your students might be interested in this type of club experience let us know.
Check out more of the fun ways we engage learners in expanding their horizons and possibilities through language on our social media and web page below.
Learning is language is more important than we think. (Improved test scores, better job, etc.) The reason we don’t teach languages early in the US is quite interesting. In his most recent blog Leonard Shurin - an ESL program specialist at IU8, offers some amazing perspectives’ about language learning.
